This lady has so many lovers… So many that you would probably know ‘who’ I’m talking about, if it wasn’t already written :) Lady Danger!
MAC describes Lady Danger as vivid bright coral red lipstick with matte finish. In my opinion this is more of a red with strong orange undertones. I am very pale and I would say my skin has a yellow undertone (btw, is it possible that your face has different undertone than the rest of your body?), which I guess should work great with this lipstick, but I just can’t pull it off, if I’m not tanned. So, this lipstick has been a great company during the summer, and I made sure I make the most of it while I was still able to wear it. Now it just looks weird on me and makes my teeth look more yellow.
If we move on to the texture – it’s pretty hard to explain. The lipstick is a bit on the dry side, so you have to press a little bit more when you apply it and it doesn’t glide so smoothly, but it is not as bad as it sounds. The application is still smooth enough, it’s just not that easy as it is with creamier lipsticks that I use most of the time. Also, once the lipstick is on your lips, it’s not drying as you would think… The were doing some magic when they were making this lipsticks, I tell you. :) This magic formulation makes the lippie last on your lips for 5-6 hours with no need to touch up. If you eat (a healthy=not that greasy) meal, it will fade, but there will be stain left and it stains evenly.
As I said, the lipstick is not drying and it’s also not hydrating. It’s highly pigmented, you get full coverage with only one layer. It doesn’t sit in the lines, but I like to do a peeling before I apply it, just to get rid of dry skin and moisturize my lips a bit, so the application is smoother (I don’t mind that it fades away faster this way).
It has a nice, I think vanilla scent to it.
It’s packed in a nice, black plastic packaging in which all MAC lipsticks are packed. You get 3g of product for 19,50 eur or $16 (+tax).
Do you own this lipstick? Are you wearing it in the colder months?
