5 Easy Steps To Darken Synthetic Hair At Home

Synthetic hair is an increasingly useful and popular accessory for both men and women. There are also more and more people boasting synthetic weaves, extensions, or even full wigs.

However, whether natural or synthetic hair, people almost always want to shake things up with the occasional change.

Unfortunately, due to the composition of synthetic hair, they often have fewer styling options than natural hair.

Is there a way to dye synthetic hair?

If you’re looking at your wig and wondering if you can dye synthetic hair? Then the answer to you is YES.

Plus, you can do this at home. You can use shampoos or tonics to dye synthetic wigs.

However, one thing to note is that the dye cannot be applied to wigs with a thick layer.

Therefore, to achieve the effect, it is best to dilute a small amount of the tonic in a small amount of water, then dye the synthetic hair with a diluted composition.

Can you dye a synthetic wig with regular hair dye?

The synthetic wigs we often use are made up of processed fibers such as polyester, acrylic, and polyvinyl.

Therefore, they are very difficult to dye. Unlike natural pigments like real human hair, these synthetic materials do not have natural pigments.

That means ordinary hair dyes or semi-permanent colors will definitely not work on synthetic wigs. Instead, use fabric dyes that are specifically made for polyester and composites.
