For more than a year now everybody has gone crazy about matte lipsticks and today’s post is dedicated to them. My favorites in my collection. They are all a bit different, so I am going to show you swatches and tell you why I love each of them.
We are going to start from the left to the right – the swatches are made according to the picture above, just in case it’s not written clear enough (some names are just so long and it’s hard to fit everything). I also chose the color of font in the same shade as lipstick so they match. :)
Let’s start with NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, the very left shade is Istanbul and the one next to it is San Paulo. Not everybody is a fan of these, but I love them for their velvety texture and effortless application. These are not the most longlasting lipsticks if you eat, but they can go for a couple of hours, if you don’t :D. Both shades can be worn as a day-time lipstick, although I don’t discriminate shades like that and easily wear the darkest plum shade during the day. But you know, they are the kind of shades you can wear with anything.
Next is Sephora Cream Lip Stain 03 – this one is more vibrant, but still… Nothing, we should not discriminate lipsticks! This one is THE MOST LONGLASTING lipstick ever. Remember when I posted this photo on Facebook? This is it. I wore it to a 12-hour conference + after party till midnight, and it barely moved. It was just a bit worn-off in the middle. And I ate, of course. This is the thing you wear to an important event where you don’t want to be bothered by lipstick reaplication. I would pick this for my wedding. I think I still haven’t made a good enough point about how good this lipstick is. Dries matte so fast, moves nowhere, not that drying (I could use a touch of lip balm occasionally). The only downside is that you gotta remove a bit of a product because the wand picks up too much (for my tiny lips).
Countinuing with MAC lipsticks, but I’m gonna describe shades separately because they are quite different. Starting with Ruby Woo, also known as the best cool-toned red. Love the shade, I wear it when I want to feel sexy, but it’s soooo drying which makes it hard to apply and wear. I usually apply a bit of lipbalm before because I can’t handle it without. Not that crazy about matte, I guess. But the shade is pretty, ya know. Velvet Teddy is a shade that I got when I was in the search for a Kylie Jenner lips, lol. Sounds weird to write it. This one too, because writting and sounds… OK, back to topic, not a Kylie shade that would suit me, because we have different skin undertones, but I still like to use it when I feel a nude lip. It’s creamy and easy to apply.
Now we have an absolute winner when it comes to quality vs price – Golden Rose Velvet Matte Lipsticks! They don’t even cost 5 eur, but they are soo longlasting, especially shade 12, the daker one. Both shades that I own, 10 and 12 are similar in application, texture, longlasting power, but these stand out even more with the darker shade, because it’s more visible on the lips. Anyhow, these are the best matte lipstick formula ever, because it’s easy to wear, very comfortable, longlasting and easy to apply. Everything you need, everything you want.
Next but not the least, are my percious Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks in the shades Bond Girl (nude rosey one) and Love Liberty. Bond Girl is my absolute Kylie lipstick, it looks so awesomely nude, but you con’t not notice it’s there. Purrrr-faction. Although, Love Liberty is perfect too. The ultimate plum (?) shade, that again goes with every look. In my opinion, both must-haves! Both shades are similar in texture – creamy, moisturizing (& matte? “How does that go together?!” – I know, right!), effortless to apply, and just overall, amazing. These lipstick are the one and only winner in the world of lipsticks for me, because they have the quality you expect, considering the price, and their packaging is just the most luxurious you could ever imagine. Especially with that cut tip, which also make application easier because it imitates the shape of brush.
And these are all my beloved matte lipsticks! I haven’t posted in a while, so this blog post is one of those, when you just wanna write what is on your mind, no special order, just talking about the things you love… SO, I hope it’s not too confusing with all that lipstick society made up and all the discrimination that comes with it, you know… :)
