Hello my lovely readers, how many of you are still there? :D Long time, no see, I know. I finally managed to take some time to take photos and write this, but I think this no-post period is not over because the second round of exams is right behind the corner… Anyhow, I wanted to show you some products that I’ve been liking lately – it would be weird to come back with a review, don’t we all agree? :)
…Starting with make up…
You have read a million times about my beloved NARS Laguna Bronzer – I’m using it all year around because you can contour as well as create that sun kissed look we are all about during the summer. I’m using it for the 3rd year, I think, and still haven’t hit the pan, so in my opinion it’s totally worth paying those 30 and something euros for such a great product.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer was my favorite last summer too. The shade 10 is a little bit dark for me in the winter, but I still put it under my eyes because it covers dark circles so well and it doesn’t look too dark there, but in summer my skin finally matches the shade so I can use it to cover the imperfections on the rest of my face as well, which makes me so happy because the coverage/pigmentation of this concealer is the best!
Every since I discovered Catrice Eyebrow Filler I’ve been using only that for my eyebrows. It gives them a little bit of color and keeps them in place and that is pretty much all I need…
I’ve been also loving Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm in shade 25 Voluptuous Pink which is the darker shade of the two that I got… not that this one is extra dark, but still :D. The formulation is easy, balmy (obviously) – something that you can apply without a mirror which makes this product perfect for carrying around in a bag.
And then we have Max Factor famous Creme Puff Blush in the shade 05 Lovely Pink. I’m obsessed with the effect it gives to my face – beautiful healthy glow. I love the pigmentation and how it blends with the skin. I don’t think I need to say much about it – just look at this picture where I’m wearing this blush on my cheeks and previously mentioned lip balm on my lips.
Where should I start!? OK, let’s start with the product that is related to my make up routine. I used L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Mist as a setting spray, especially when using CC cream from the same line, because it always felt heavy and a bit drying. Spraying this on my face helped getting rid of that cracked looking skin. I also used it just to refresh myself during the heat waves.
Spreaking of heat waves, my skin kept breaking out during those, if I used anything else heavier than The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner. I know it sounds like not enough to hydrate, but it actually has a little bit thicker consistency, it’s not like just water (you can see it’s not totally clear liquid in the bottle) and it worked perfectly during the hot days, which I mostly spent inside studying, so no need for SPF :)) – needed that for like 7 days during this summer…
Although my face was happy with just a toner, my skin around the eyes needed more. I finally opened a new, big jar of Benefit It’s Potent! eye cream. It keeps the area around the eyes moisturized and actually helps with dark circles! Lately, this has been more important to me than ever before because I don’t use make up as much as I used to, not even a concealer, so I’m really happy that I’ve found a product that actually helps with that problem.
Last week was a little bit colder so I got to use my Bocassy Serum again. I’ve been using it during the whole spring under their light day cream, but during the summer I’ve been using only serum. It, again, gives me enough moisture and it’s not too heavy as long as the temperatures are normal + it is made of some nice stuff like olive oil, shea butter, vitamins A and E etc. I’ve been using it also as a night cream.
Now on to the cleansing! I can’t say that I’ve been in love with my Clarisonic Mia since I got it because I suffered from a long break out period (2 months!!) that this baby has caused me, but now I miss it if I don’t use it every day. I can actually feel the difference when I touch my skin, if I don’t use it! :D After a hot, sweaty day there is nothing better that washing your face with this fella + Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2in1 Wash and Mask. Oh, I can imagine that feeling right now…
I’ve been fighting my break-out battles with Origins Super Spot Remover for some time now, and I’ve also bought him a friend called Uriage Hyseac Active Care with AHA. Uriage product I apply all over the face to cure and prevent any new breakouts and then add Origins to the spots that are the most painful, white and all those disgusting things, you know what I mean… As long as I’m not PMSing, it both work fine :D.
The last but not the least… BODY PRODUCTS!
Balea Rasieröl aka shaving oil was a star on my FB page a while ago. I love it because I can see exactly what I’ve shaved and what I’ve missed, it leaves the skin soooo soft, smells nice, gets used up so slow and is very cheap – around 3 eur. I’m still on my first bottle – you can see how much is still left after more than 4 months (on FB post you can see how much I used in 1 month of using only that product for the whole body, now I combine shaving with epilation… Showing more skin more often = need to remove hair more often —> me is one very lazy person that will go through so much pain, if the result is ‘vacation’ for at least a week :D).
Aaand the last product is the one that smells so freaking awesome and at the same time smells like all the fruit that I don’t like (coconut and pineapple) but somehow it works and it is… Seriously. So. Good. We are talking Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Shea & Vitamin E Body Lotion. On the packaging it says that the scents are mandarin, berry, mimosa, apricot and cypress wood – so much for my scent detection skills… Anyhow, the scent lingers on skin for a long time and it leaves the skin super soft, but you need to be careful with dosing because if you apply too much, the skin can be a bit sticky. Less is more in this case, which I don’t mind at all. This is really so good…
And that would be it for my current favorites. Must admit this took quite some time, I totally forgot how time consuming this blogging thing is! I think I’m gonna need another 4 month break, haha! :D
